In a day and age when the world puts all it's emphasis on youth, through the young prophet Daniel God shows the world that youth isn't everything. Thank goodness for God's wisdom.
Doesn't it surprise you when the theory about youth having all the answers to life falls flat on its face? Now this can be a controversial subject and open to debate.
The early life of Daniel demonstrates that there is more to being young than there are to mistakes. The words of a young person can be wise and attractive to lots of people. Beware. Using God's wisdom through Daniel overshadowed youth.
Do you think that youth is better and makes all the difference in the world? Not so in the life of Daniel.
Join me in the weeks ahead and learn all about this magnificent prophet that God used to His own honor and glory.

Compatible Puzzle Pieces
Just like putting the pieces of a puzzle together with knowledge and wisdom I can move mountains. And wouldn't you like to know the source of all wisdom?
People crave for wisdom and when in doubt they ask God and He gives them more than enough to overflowing (James 1:5). Wow!
Yes, wisdom is free for the asking. I have to admit I need all the wisdom I can get to help me live in this mixed up world.
When I think of wisdom I am often reminded about the story of The Three Little Pigs & Big Bad Wolf.
One little piggy built his house out of straw while the other built his house out of sticks. But the third little piggy used common sense and built his house out of bricks.
Then one day the Big Bad Wolf came along and changed the whole landscape. He huffed and he puffed and blew the house of straw and house of sticks away. Immediately the two fled to safety in the brick house that the wolf couldn't blow down.
The third little piggy was very wise. If only I had as much wisdom as he I would be so much better off. How are you on the wisdom chart?

The Barter System
There is no doubt about it, money has power. Just the thought of it will move mountains; cause a vicious argument; replace God; refocus our views about religion; create an out-of-control desire; and more.
'Burning Holes' is a good metaphor that tells us how to manage our money. Sometimes spending more than we earn causes it to burn holes in our pocket.
Living in a mixed-up world I thought that money would solve all my problems until I read Hebrews 13:5. Yes! Money and contentment do not always go together.
There is a valuable lesson here for all of us to learn about money management. In your struggle to establish and maintain a budget, use some common sense.

Purpose
What makes the world go around? Some people say love while others say money. But would you be surprised if I say purpose?
Read Romans 8:28 in your Bible and when you do please notice the words "know...all things...for good...love God...have purpose."
How can anybody ever live a peaceful life without purpose? Frankly speaking, you can't. Yet millions of people prioritize the wrong thing—careers, job, money, drive a nice car. Even health and religion are important if necessary. Thus life becomes shallow, empty, and perhaps even miserable.
So why are you feeling miserable? How do you go about getting rid of that empty feeling in your life? From my own personal experience I say, "Get A Life." Focus on the purpose of your existence and you will feel much better.

More Hot Air
Still people remain puzzled. Based on character alone, the choice is questionable. How could anybody vote for somebody whose character is deeply flawed?
Why would God allow a deeply flawed character to enter the race for the highest office in the land? The answer is simple. God wants to teach us that something good can come out of something bad.
The Bible is filled with stories about people whose character was flawed. Jacob stole his brother Esau's birthright? David committed adultery with Bathsheba and orchestrated the murder of her husband. Ultimately Jacob and David did a lot of good.
Sometimes presidential debates are just a lot of hot air without anything significant to say. And just think we have two more of these to go. I can't wait until the election is over. How about you? Are you tired of these debates?
So how should we vote in the upcoming election? How should we deal with the flawed character of our presidential candidates? Based on my own personal convictions (Rom. 13.:1) I would let my conscience be my guide.
Don't get hung up on the character of the candidates in the midst of all the bickering. Vote your conscience. Evaluate their plans and hope that America will be a better place to live.

Level Playing Field
When I reached the age of 50 I embarked upon a new life with fear and trembling. My men's small group shared some devastating facts that will change our, both men and women's, perception about life forever with some unfortunate circumstances. They called it The Magic 50.
The job market isn't kind to people over 50. Naturally your first inclination is to get another job. But whose looking at you seriously if your over 50? I can tell you from my own personal experience not many.
Even the church treats you differently. Oh yes, people are friendly upon approach. It's the right thing to do, but in their heart the focus is more on youth.
With the population of people living longer there are more people on planet earth than ever before. More people over 50 that are well functioning with an excellent capability to perform and shouldn't be ignored. People still able to make a major contribution to our society.
So what do you do? My suggestion is to look at life the way God would, a level playing field with equal opportunity for everybody regardless of age. And who knows you might be surprised what a little common sense and hard work will accomplish.
